May we step into abundance
The massive power outage in Lisbon on Monday inspired me the theme for this month’s newsletter & classes : Abundance.
The nationwide blackout was a good reminder that in the systems we take for granted (power, connectivity, convenience) also lie our greatest vulnerabilities. In losing electricity, we briefly regained something else: presence, community, and simplicity, as people gathered in parks outside, away from their phones, united together in the face of an event out of our control.
It got me thinking that perhaps the real power lies not in what we plug into, but in what we can still tap into when everything else goes dark.
When you hear the word Abundance, you may think about material wealth, and the accumulation of possessions. However, spiritually, abundance is a state of mind, something we can step into. It’s about experiencing a sense of profound fulfilment, gratitude, and richness in every aspect of life, and recognizing that we are always surrounded by more than what we need, be it natural resources or love. As per Wayne Dyer, “Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into.” It starts by noticing the smallest things, paying attention to the plentifulness all around and acknowledging what we already have.
Nature is the best place right now to experience an abundance of colors, scents and sounds.
A FEW THINGS I ENJOYED LATELY
This newsletter from Elise Loehnen about the uncertainty of current times and a few tools & ideas for how to navigate it, including that prophecy she mentions: “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for”. Her Substack is a gold mine for smart spirituality.
I just finished reading this book written by an Austrian neurologist and psychologist who survived the Holocaust. In it, Frankl claims that one finds meaning in life through three ways: work, especially when that work is creative and aligned with a purpose greater than ourselves; love, which often manifests itself in the service of others; and suffering, which is inherent to the human experience. It may not initially sound like the most upbeat story but it’s a powerful tale of resilience and hope. I understand why it’s become a classic.
And a quote, why not : “Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance”.
Eckart Tolle, author of several books, among which his best-seller, “The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment.”
